Welcome to my abode! I hope you stay a while – I’ll go and boil the kettle.

I am a high school English teacher. I live with my partner of ten years in a suburb of Melbourne, Australia. We recently ‘tied the knot’ in a Civil Partnership ceremony in London, England. It’s legal there, but not here in Australia unfortunately.

We are the owners of two senior-citizen cats – Orlando and Doris. We’d call them “fur kids”, but in human years Doris is in her seventies and Orlando is eighty. They are very well-behaved apart from the odd scratch on the sofa. They don’t do much more than sleep these days.

I enjoy photography, travel, genealogy and something called Postcrossing. You should check out the Postcrossing site.

If you want to see a little bit about where I live, I recommend this post.

I hope you drop by again soon!

UPDATE: Mark and I are moving to the UK! We will be setting up a new abode in Liverpool. We leave Australia on December 30 this year – I hope you’ll share my experiences as we move countries!

UPDATE #2: Sadly, Doris died recently, so now our household has only one cat. You can read about Doris here.

  1. Thanks for stopping by, Scott, we too are partnered, but for 20 years, so the trip to Europe was an anniversary celebration of sorts.

I’m glad to find your web page, and believe I’ll be stopping by to read…… for now, must go to store, our neighborhood is having it’s annual 4th of July, I know, Americano day, for potluck preparations……

WE LOVE Australia, and hope to visit some day .

  2. I stumbled across your blog via a “travel” tag. I enjoyed your pictures of London – stunning!

As I lover of postcards, I was thrilled to see your link to Postcrossing. Looks like brilliant fun! Thank you! :)
