Holiday List

Mark is concerned that I haven’t yet written and printed out my usual list of things to do on the holidays. I usually begin composing the list several weeks before the holidays begin but somehow I just didn’t get around to it this time. As a compromise, here’s my Sooper Dooper September Holiday List in blog form:

Sort out my closet – it’s getting a bit disorganised. I then need to update my clothes purchasing list. I think a new pair of brown leather shoes is on the agenda.

Pick up some more stock for Orlando’s bookstore. I won an eBay auction of a bulk lot of books the other day so I need to go and collect them. I’m getting a bit concerned about the eBay fees lately so I’m thinking about how I might set up my own domain/web site.

Shopping. There are sales on at the moment and I need a new quilt set. The problem is I have decorated the bedroom around my old Sanderson quilt set and I’m afraid that I won’t get anything else to go with it. The bedroom suite is made of American cherry wood with ebony inlays so it’s very dark. I have a red upholstered Loius XIV chair and above the bed is a huge gold framed pre-Raphaelite print by Frank Dicksee which features reds, blacks, golds. The current quilt cover is called Pomegranate which also has reds and golds, which brings everything together without being too over the top. The room is painted in a very neutral cream so it works. I’m worried.

Postcrossing. Orlando is about to set off to visit Chris in Japan and Paige in Shanghai.

Genealogy. I have seven birth and marriage certificates arriving from England soon and these will answer a number of questions I have about certain branches of the family. I also want to go back through all the census records and write down addresses that I can visit while I’m in London.

Hideous correction. I’ll try to do some in the next couple of days. There’s nothing worse than leaving it until the last day.

Reading.

Travel planning.

Painting.

Photography – I think I want to get a couple of prints made from some images I took a couple of weeks ago.

Catch up with Mum and my brother – he’s going to be a dad (again) in a few week’s time.

I’m sure there’s more to add but I can’t think of anything else right now.

  1. I love your shopping………I wandered from shop to shop today. nothing purchased nothing gained.

  2. The brackets around ‘again’…. could mean nothing; could mean a lot….

Dramas here with Tony. It’ll end up being a storm in a teacup but the kids were NOT happy…

  3. I meant “for the second time” by my “(again)” that’s all. It’s very exciting!
